The design philosophy is you plan your trip using the full PC OziExplorer on you PC and then transfer your waypoints and other data to your PDA for use by OziExplorerCE. However OziExplorerCE will allow you to create your own routes on the map and navigate along those. When you switch the GPS tracking on by clicking the lightening symbol on the button bar you will be shown the most detailed map available at that position. This is the default shown when there is not a more detailed map to be displayed at the cursor position.
